Compensation Range: $104,921.35 – $122,905.62
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to join our Finance & Administration team. This position will be responsible for leading key financial functions including budgeting, forecasting, and in-depth financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will provide actionable insights into revenue, expenses, and program efficiency—driving both performance and sustainability.
This is a remote position with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a mission-driven organization. The Finance Manager will collaborate cross-functionally and directly supervise a high-performing team of up to six direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the organizational budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals.
Collaborate with the Director, Finance to support the annual audit and prepare the IRS Form 990 filing.
Build and maintain rolling financial forecasts for revenue, expenses, net income, and cash flow.
Deliver variance analysis and financial insights to support planning and real-time decision-making.
Model and evaluate program cost structures and network participation fees to drive efficiency and sustainability.
Support fee modeling, pricing, and cost allocation strategies for programs and investments.
Track and report on financial health indicators such as liquidity ratios, operating reserves, and program efficiency.
Lead the monthly financial review process and serve as the finance liaison to program and operations teams.
Develop and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing direction, feedback, and professional growth.
Strengthen and optimize internal finance tools, processes, and reporting systems.
Collaborate on financial strategy, long-term planning, and funder or board-facing reports.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 5 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Proven track record in nonprofit financial management is highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial planning software/tools.
Strong foundation in scenario planning, modeling, and data-driven strategy support.
Knowledge of nonprofit-specific financial reporting, compliance, and key performance metrics.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate financial data for diverse audiences.
CPA, CMA, MBA, or FPAC certification is a plus.
Supervisory Scope
This role supervises up to six direct reports and is a key leadership role within the Finance & Administration department.
